Audio: Piece of Mind “Rhyme Training” feat. Abdominal (Free Download)

Following the releases of “Rap Phenomenon” and “Graffiti”, Piece of Mind releases another free single:  “Rhyme Training” featuring Abdominal (Dj Format, Escape From The Pigeon Hole LP).  The sound is familiar — sample based boom bap hip hop reminiscent of the Golden Era.  Dj Gedsi puts together a beat that matches G Roc Gayle’s intricate, head-nodding flows while complementing Abdominal’s introspective lyrics.  ”Rhyme Training” will also appear on the Piece of Mind debut self-titled album, but download it now while it’s new and free. Plus the awesome art-work created by: IGI B of Crate Bugz and Hip Hop Lives Switzerland .. look-out for more from IGI B on Structures Built..

Rhyme Training was essentially put together in one night while G Roc and Gedsi were hanging out watching some NBA basketball on TV.  During a timeout, Gedsi got on his MPC 2000xl and crafted a beat that happened to match an acappella that G Roc had on his computer.  While the verses were originally recorded in 2004, it still sounds fresh for 2012.  It just goes to show that good hip hop is timeless and never dies.  
Be on the lookout for the remix to Rhyme Training in the next couple of days.
